Spider Woman near the Broad River:

Challenge yourself!! Take a trip through the difficult Rock Garden and then travel along the river before heading up the mountain and to the end of the trail.

New Bridge on Midlands Mountain:

A different view of the new bridge on the Midlands Mountain Trail. The original bridge was washed away during several days of heavy rain storms in April, 2003. Forest Rangers and volunteers spend many hours repairing and maintaining trails. For your safety, always stay on the trails!

Another view of the Midlands Mountain Bridge:

After leaving the Midlands Mountain Trail parking lot, head towards the top of the mountain by way of the switchback to get this view of the bridge. You might catch a glimpse of some of the birds that hang out in this area. Towhees, Carolina wrens, Louisiana waterthrushes and pileated woodpeckers frequent the stream here.

Midlands Mountain:

After completing the difficult switchback on Midlands Mountain, the trail heads for the Bottomlands. If you're quiet, you might sneak up on some deer or wild turkeys!

Broad River at Spider Woman:

Great views of the river can be found all along the far side of this looping trail. Catch your breath here before you head back up the trail.
